Bay Area (San Jose / San Francisco)
Bay Area VFR e-mail list
The coolest bunch of riders you'll ever meet! Although it started as a VFR list, many riders have moved on to other steeds and all brands are welcome. We arrange rides, get togethers, maintainance "clinics", etc. To subscribe send the message "subscribe bavfr" to majordomo@one-ring.net.
Doc Wong Clinics
One Sunday each month Doc Wong sponsors a free riding clinic. Meeting in Doc's office before the ride a specific riding skill is discussed - usually based on one topic of Keith Code's Twist of the Wrist II. Riders then divide themselves up into groups according to skill level and follow the group leader along about 100 mile route through the back roads of the Santa Cruz hills. Doc also sponsors suspension setup clinics, maintainance clincs, and dirt riding clinics.

Tracks and Rider Proficiency Schools
California Superbike School
Keith Code's "Cornering School". Drill and skill oriented school with a low student to instructor ratio. No free track time, each time on the track you're practicing a specific skill that was just discussed in the classroom sessions.
CLASS Motorcycle Schools
Reg Pridmore's riding school. Alternating classroom sessions and track time. When on the track it's up to the student to approach an instructor for additional help.
Jason Pridmore's
STAR Motorcycle School
Skills and Techniques for Advanced Riding Motorcycle School
Freddie Spencer
Fast Freddie's riding school in the Nevada desert.
Lance Keigwin's Track Days;
True open track time. Get on and off the track whenever you want all day long. Lots of AFM racers will practice at these events, so there will be lots of fast guys there.
Laguna Seca Raceway
Hallowed ground in Monterey, home to the US round of the World Superbike series.
Infineon Raceway (nee Sears Point)
Sonoma, CA. Great venue for the AMA superbikes and AFM club racing.
Buttonwillow Raceway Park
If ever there was a track in the middle of nowhere, this is it. AFM runs races here, many track day organizers also. Outside of Bakersfield.
Thunderhill Park
Another track without much around, AFM races and track days. North of Sacramento.
Willow Springs International Raceway
A haul from the Bay Area, and out in the high desert of Rosamond (near Edwards AFB).
